Problem launching OutlookXP re virus scan

I have had to reinstall Office XP after a major crash. I
deleted most of my programs including McAfee Virus Scan,
so that i could reinstall it later.

I have now installed a newer version of McAfee Virus Scan,
but when I launch Outlook I get the message:
"The add-in D:\Program Files\Network Associates\Virus
Scan\scanemal.dll could not be installed or loaded Unable
to load D:\Program Files\Network Associates\Virus Scan"

My new version of Virus Scan is in the folder d:\program
files\mcafee\virus scan

Clicking on cancel in the error window launches Outlook
without problem. How can I stop this message appearing?

Did you remove the old McAfee by Control Panel-> Add/Remove Programs? If not
see if it still listed there and try to uninstall it again. If you removed
McAfee by deleting the folder in Program Files you could have messed up the
uninstaller. Installing the old McAfee again and remove it from your system
in the proper way (Control Panel-> Add/Remove Programs) should solve the
problem then.

If you uninstalled properly and the problem still persists remove the Add-In
manually;
In Outlook; Tools-> Options-> tab Other-> button Advanced E-mail Options->
button Com Add-ins-> select the McAfee add-in -> button Remove
