Problem in Windows explorer

Strange problem

When I click once on any mp3, a Windows media player previewer appears
in the side of the Explorer screen (as it would for, say an mpeg).
Then explorer crashes. I get the

"Explorer.exe has generated errors" message. This is very annoying!
Any idea what's causing it?

Sommetimes this can just be badly written mp3 files. I suppose you could just un-associate that file type with Windows Media player and use right-click | Open from...
