Since yesterday, everytime I open my computer, it will just hang up and a
message on the screen will appear as "NTLDR is missing. Press any key to
start." It all started when it was not properly shut down.

I can still start my computer by pressing F8 every time I turn on my
computer. But what is the best way to bring back the normal setting of my
computer?

Thank you. H oping you could help me with my problem.

Hi

Try this:

Boot with your XP CD in the cd drive. Select 'To repair..' by pressing 'R'.
When in the Recovery Console type the following:

"copy X:\i386\ntldr C:\" - without the quotes.

Where X is the letter of your CD drive and C is the letter of your system
drive. Take the XP CD out of the cd drive and reboot into XP normally.
