problem in setting up screensaver

When I choose the screensaver after double-clicking Display, the screensaver
drop menu is grey with only "Wndows XP". So I cannot select any screen saver
other than the default XP logo.

How do I add other files or add a slideshow by identifying a folder with
picture files in it?
