problem getting new hard drive to work

I have had to replace the hard drive in my HP Pavillion pc, I fitted a new
Hitatchi Deskstar 80GB 3.5 drive,put my windows XP Home installation disk in
the drive and booted up, windows needed to format the drive, after formatting
it tried to install windows but I keep getting the following message NTDR is
missing, Press ctrl-alt-del to restart.

I have done this but still keep gitting message, I have rebooted but still
the message?? please help???
