Problem customizing a signature

I have OL version 2003. I have selected MSWord to use to edit e-mail
messages. When I create a signature, and then click on "Advanced edit", and
then "yes" text editor appears, not MSWord. Any suggetions?
 
From a cursory check, Word isn't used to edit signatures ever. I think
that's by design
