Problem converting to NTFS

N

Nikola

I tried to convert from FAT32 to NTFS on my computer,
but i get this message:

"Convert cannot run because the volume is in use by
another process.
Convert may run if the volume is dismounted first.
ALL OPENED HANDLES TO THIS VOLUME WOULD THEN BE INVALID.
Would you like to force a dismount on this volume? (Y/N)"

What does it mean? Should I proceed?

Thanks.

Yes, dismount the volume. It means that the volume you are converting is in
use and we need to have the volume free to change the file system.

I tried it, but I get this message:

"Convert failed to dismount the volume.
Convert cannot gain exclusive access to the C: drive,
so it cannot convert it now. Would you like to schedule it
to be converted the next time the system restarts (Y/N)?"

What should I do next?

Answer Y and then reboot your system. When Windows reboots, it will
automatically convert the partition to from FATx to NTFS.
