I have Acer Ferrari 4003WLM. and currently i was using Windows Xp 64 bit edition. Yesterday suddenly my computer hanged and when i restarted it, its windows won't start. It gives blank screen after the setup logo. I tried to use recovery CDs but it gave me the following error message.

"File\i386\system32\ntoskrnl.exe could not be loaded
The error code is 4.
Setup cannot continue. Press any key to exit."

Then i tried to use other Xp bootable CD, but it get stuck after coping files in my harddisk. There is no problem with both the recovery CDs and XP bootable CD.

I am very confused so plaese help me with this regard.

There appears to be no remedies for this online, so try the following:

Reformatting the hard disk drive (HDD)? With a HDD a reformat can achieve loads, so try it.

If you are 100% sure that it's not your boot discs at fault and reformatting hasn't worked then I suggest you take your HDD into a computer shop (like the TechGuys at PC World) where they can look at it for you (unless it is less costly to buy a new HDD; then do buy a new HDD).

Going to an expensive pc repair shop is in my opinion not a very good move until you have tried several other options .

Some of the tools on this may help ,

Well...i have tried to format the harddisk but it get stuck before getting the option to format the drive...and also i have tried using bartPE but doest worked...it showed a blue screen with some errors. Currently i am thinking of buying a new hard drive. Do u know any good online store with cheap prices or any special recommendations for any specific brand or any thing helpful.

I recently had a laptop that would not boot and the rescue discs did not work and I could not format or do anything .
However I downloaded and installed the Moka5 Bare Metal Engine and it worked just fine , ran XP Pro and several Linux distros from within it . Might be worth a try .
