When my friends PC is booting up she sees loads of black screens with white
writing, she gets a message that tells her to be able to resume loading
press the F1 key!! I told her I didn't think she should be getting any of
that. Now it seems to have reached the stage that it isn't resuming
sometimes. It looks like it's 'dumping' something. I've got her to find the
error log

C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini100704-02dmp

C:\DOCUME~1\Susan\LOCALS~1\temp\WER69.tmp.dir00\Sysdata.xml

I got her to do a system restore but still no joy. Now she can't
send/receive mail again like she had last week, but I think that has
something to do with going 1 System Restore point back too many.
Got some more info. She also noticed that last time she booted up and got
this problem a Found New Hardware box appeared its description was ATAPI01
CD Rom Drive 50MAX. When she gets the problem she gets a blue screen which
says Beginning to dump memory and in the corner there are seconds counting
down.

I have the same problem, but I don't know what to look for on your help page.

Hi Linda,

Memory dumps can indicate all sorts of problems, and yours may have
absolutely nothing to do with the old threads you are responding to. Rather
than jumping onto an old thread, you should start a new one with an accurate
account of the problem you are experiencing. Please read this before you do:
as it contains some hints on what to include
and how to make sure your post gets noticed.
