problem after removing Microsoft Office 2007

I downloaded a trial version of Microsoft Office 2007 which disagreed with
my computer, freezing it, etc. I removed the program through Add and Delete
programs. However, now when I try to download a document from the internet
and try to view it or print it I get the error message "Microsoft 97
conversion. Cannot convert graphic. Continue with document conversion?"
Whether I click yes or no makes no difference - it simply freezes the program
through which I am trying to open the document e.g. Microsoft Works
Processor, Wordpad, Notepad, etc. I have gone through the entire four pages
of fixes provided by Microsoft to no avail. I have tried locating this
program through Search but it does not bring up a result. Any suggestions?

Try this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility. Run it and see
if any Office products are left. If so, highlight them and click on Remove.
You can select more than one item at a time by holding down the CTRL key.

===========

This link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301 has a link in it to the
newer version of the utility (3.0 vs. 2.5). I would suggest using the newer
one.

Thanks,
