Problem adding appointments to own personal calendar

I have 2 users who are experiencing intermittent problems when adding
appointments to their own calendar. I have been informed that when they try
to add an appointment Outlook does not bring up the New Appointment window.

This happens very infrequently and each time I go and look it works ok.

I have asked the users to try adding to someone else's calendar but was
wondering if there is anything I should be looking out for in particular. It
sounds like a permission based problem, but I do not understand the
intermittency of it.

What version of Outlook? Are they using an Exchange server?

No they are not. They are full fat clients, running on the same LAN and in
the same domain as the Exchange server. We are running Exch 2003.

It always seems to be the same user. I have just asked and they have
informed me that it has happened again. I know by closing down Outlook and
restarting it will probably be ok, but then go again.

Thanks

Mark

Unusual - most fat OL2K3 clients do run in cached mode. It is an odd
problem - anything in the Event Viewer on either workstation or server
that is useful?

There is nothing in the Event Viewer at all. I presume it must be some kind
of permissions based issue - the problem is the intermittency of it. Whenever
it happens I ask the user to log out and it always fixes itself...a very odd
problem.
