Priority Symbols

HI,

Is there a way to remove a priority symbol i.e. low priotity (arrow pointing
down); high priority (red exclamation point). Sometimes I click on that
column in error and I can't remove the symbol.

Can anyone help?

Thank You.

Click Create Mail > RIGHT click ANYWHERE in the tool bar area > click
Customize > under "Current tool bar buttons", find Priority. Click it, click
REMOVE > Close

HI,

Thanks for such a quick response. I did the steps you told me to do and now
the symbols will not appear there--and that is a good thing. But can I get
the symbol off an email I already received and want to forward to someone
else? I don't want to forward it if it has a "Low Priority" symbol attached
to it.

Thanks.

Do the same procedures, except click Reply or Reply All > Right click on
tool bar > Customize > etc.......

I followed your instructions both ways: 1. clicked on the email to open it
and did the procedure--right click on toolbar, customize, chose "reply" then
remove. Didn't work. So then I did it again and chose "reply all" still
didn't remove the low priority sign. 2. I didn't open the email and just
clicked on it in my inbox and did the same procedure--low priority sign is
still there. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

No, no. You misunderstand what I said.
You were asking how to remove the Priority from the tool bar when you reply
or forward an email. Right ?
(A) For Replying or Forwarding an e-mail :
Click Reply or Forward > right click on tool bar area, click Customize >
find and click Priority >click Remove
(B)For starting a NEW e-mail:
Click Create mail > right click on tool bar area, click Customize > find and
click Priority, click Remove

No I must have said it wrong the first time I wrote in. I received an email
that I want to forward but somehow I clicked on the "low priority" (arrow
pointing down) and I would like to remove it before I send it to others.
Once before I did the same thing but I guess clicked on "high priority"
(arrow pointing up) but I forwarded it anyway because it said "high priority"
and that wasn't such a big deal

Thanks,

Please read the following again.
(A) For Replying or Forwarding an e-mail :
Click Reply or Forward > right click on tool bar area, click Customize >
find and click Priority >click Remove
(B) For starting a NEW e-mail:
Click Create mail > right click on tool bar area, click Customize > find
and click Priority, click Remove

I just tried it: I clicked on Forward first then I right clicked in toolbar
space, clicked on customize, clicked on priority and clicked on remove,
clicked on close and the sign was still there.

There is something wrong with your machine.
I've tried that on mine. If I remove the Priority on Create Mail, it is also
removed on Reply/Forward, vice versa.
You said you did mange to remove Priority after you clicked Create Mail. Do
it again, and then exit Create Mail window. Now click Reply or Forward, see
if the Priority sign is gone too. Please reply back.

What I meant by that is I moved the Priority from the Current Toolbar Buttons
to the Available Toolbar Buttons. I didn't manage to remove the Priority
Symbol from the incoming email that I rec'd and want to forward.

Excerpt from my last reply -----
" If I remove the Priority on Create Mail, it is also removed on
Reply/Forward, vice versa." ( end quote )
Either we are not on the same page, or your machine does not work the same
as mine.
Mine is Vista Home Premium 32-bit SP 1.

Forward the mail>on the Message menu of that mail window, set
priority>normal.

Hi,

We may not be on the same page but I have tried exactly what you told me to
do and mine did not work. I have the same operating system as you Vista Home
Premium 32 bit, Service Pack 1. But mine doesn't work so I'm probably not
doing something exactly right. But I'm also having a hugh problem with WM
spellcheck. It suddenly stopped working the end of Nov. I get 2 different
error messages. I have written to MS Communities and nothing that Gary V.
has suggested has worked. I have contacted, Norton's, Dell, Verizon (ISP).
They shared my computer and couldn't find how to fix the problem. So
possibly, something is wrong somewhere.

But I also rec'd a response from Mac (read below) and tried what he said and
forwarded the message to myself to see if it had the Low Priority symbol on
when I received it. It didn't. So now, if I remember for future times, I'll
know how to remove the symbols if I accidently click on the space and remove
it before forwarding the message.

Thanks for all your help. I really appreciated it. What you said should
have worked but something is probably wrong somewhere with my computer since
spellcheck and now this can't be fixed the normal way.

Thanks again.

Hi Mac,

I tried what you suggested and forwarded the message to myself and it
worked. When I rec'd the new message from myself, the low priority symbol
was gone.

Thanks, I really appreciate it. Have a good day.

No Nadia, what t-4-2 said should not have worked, all they were saying was
to remove the Priority option from the toolbar, not how to change or remove
the Priority setting from a forwarded mail.

What is your problem with spell check?

Pleased to hear that you now have the fix that you sought :))

Thanks for the feedback.

Hi again Mac,

I forgot to ask you something else since you helped me out on this problem.
I have written "several times" to MS Communities and conversed with Gary V
regarding my WM spell check suddenly stopping to work around the end of Nov.
You can check the conversations beginning on 12/4/08, 24 posts nder "Spell
Check Not Working". I tried to cc the link for you but I don't know if it
will work:

http://www.microsoft.com/communitie...&p=1&tid=0c0e1f41-e028-4ac0-9eb0-dabfad4af3f7

Do you have any other suggestions? Right now, I'm writing the email then
copying and Paste in MS Word to spell check, then if there's errors, cc and
paste back to my email. It's not as bad as it sounds to do but I'm still
wondering "why this happened".

Thanks,

Thanks,

I had read the entire thread in the last few minutes, prior to you posting
the above.

Try giving the Registry a slight kick in the pants, go to
tools>options>spelling tab, note the boxes that you have selected now.

Remove all the checkmarks from all the boxes, change the spelling language
to French>apply>ok.

Shut down WM and all other open programs, now restart your machine.

After restart go back to the spelling tab in WM and select the boxes that
you had selected previously, and set the language back to English.

Restart PC again.

Now try the spell check?
