Prints too dark from picture print wizard

Hi, my neighbour has a problem printing images when using Windows image
print wizard - they come out too dark! He is using an Epson R200.

If he prints from other programs like Paint Shop Pro they are fine.
Please note the printer settings are the same whichever program he uses.
Anyone know what the issue is or how to correct it please?

The R series had the "too dark" problem when the printers were first
released. So, It's possible that new printer drivers might help.
More likely, The PSP program has color compensation settings that can result
in a different print than from the Windows print wizard.
It might be a good idea to print from paint, just to see if the result is
light or dark. IF the result is also to dark, I'd change the basic printer
settings.

The default settings on the R series may print to dark. Seems to be a result
of either default settings for the office or a desire to have the printer
use more ink.
There are too many different printer settings that can be used, such as
Gamma, Vivid, ICM, CC, etc. to go into here.

Is one of many sources for a "reference" picture. These can be used to
adjust the display and the printer. Remember to write protect the picture
before you use it, or make a backup copy.
