Printing Websites

I'm sure we've ll had this problem before so I hope that, if it has not been
asked before, this question will recieve some answers that wil benefit, not
only me, but others as well. Here we go:
When you try to click print on a webpage, you sometimes get half of the page
cut off when it comes out on paper because the contet of the page stretches
to far wide. Is there any way to prevent this?

I asked this question earlier but didn't get any resolutions that worked.
Someone said try changing the printer page options but that didn't work.... I
just find it hard to believe that some of these pages stretch themselves out
so far. I can see the webpage on my screen, not a lot of graphics, it fits in
about 6 inches wide on my screen and I can see all the paragraphs just
fine.... Now why wn't it print that way? Some times, computers just try to
alter things for us too much and instead, they seem to ruin it... OH well,
anone got any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

lol, actually your computer is fixing it, by taking a large page
and making it fit your screen. It's the author of the web sites
who haven't taken into consideration the screen resolution of hte
people reading their screens that make this disparity show up.

Usually switching to Landscape mode for your printer will let
most pages print properly. Or, you could highlight just hte
parts you want to print, and print the selection.

Hi,

IE 7 has a smart printing feature that makes pages print wonderfully.
It reformats, resizes, removes odd colors and even does things like shade
alternating lines on tables of data. I was really impressed the first time I
saw it.
Of course, IE 7 is still in beta. I know that doesn't help you now, unless
you are willing to install a beta product.

on my screen? this is the website I'm trying to print, click print preview
and you will see what is cut off: www.sturgeonwoods.com

You could use Firefox as your browser, which has a Print Preview, and
shrink to fit options.

Where do I get the beta and the information on it? If it's security features
aren't that bad, I'l do it.

Ok, so what does it mean by preview?

The usual meaning - you get to see what the printout would look like
before printing. Just like print preview in a word-processing or
spreadsheet program.

The Preview is redundant text. It's beta software. Use it at your own risk.

just that it is not ready for release yet.
You get to preview the software before it is launched.

Tell the webmaster to design for the average Joe, ie NOT for rich people
who have large monitors.
