HI,

I use an HP Laserjet printer on WinXP Prof. When i fire a print job, i can
see the job in the queue but it does not print. The only way i found to
print that job, is to restart the system. When the system reboots and i log
on, then the job gets printed.

what could be the problem? Now the strange thing is that sometimes it
prints fine without a restart.

Thanks for any support.

Ramesh

Ramesh,

When it doesn't print is the PRINT SPOOLER service running?

START | RUN | Type 'services.msc' (without quotes) & press ENTER

Is the sevice set to Automatic/Started?

Instead of rebooting you can right-click the Print Spooler service & RESTART it.

Have you uninstalled, rebooted & re-installed the printer?

Is the printer driver using the correct port?

Update driver may also solve the issue too

Thanks ..

Restarting didnt work. however reinstalling the driver seem to have worked.

Thanks again
Ramesh
