Printing "range"?

How come the printer just doesn't print what is in the print view when I have the correct driver installed? And do some printers
have an ability to print close to the edges than others? I'm using an HP5 right now whose limit seems to be about 1/2 an inch to
the edges and bottom.

Yeah, that is how it goes. Some printers have their own Print Preview. My
Epson 760 does. I use the app's Print Preview, and then when things look
good, I Print, then the Epson driver has a Print Preview that is much more
accurate.

Yes. Setting a margin to 0, then moving the focus out of that margin-control
will reset the value for that margin to the printer's minimum, which varies
among printers.

Margin - you mean ruler? I used the ruler to get the printing back in the printer's range.

Oh, I meant the left, right, top and bottom margins in File / Page Setup.
These are set by the printer driver. Some go as low as 0.17 inch, maybe
0.00 inch for photo-printers that can print on the entire sheet. Others
have a 0.50 inch margin that they can not print on.

That makes sense. My HP 5 is set to .3 and below that is beyond the margins. At least it tells me instantly when I'm beyond the
printing range instead of just printing anyways. Thanks for the tip.
