Printing Problems with IE6

I can only print one time from IE6 and sometimes not even one time. To print
again I have to shut down IE6 and re-open it. The print preview does not
work at all.

The error message I get is:
Line: 93
Char: 1
Code: 0
URL: res://C\WINDOWS\system32\shdoclc.dll/preview.dlg
Do you want to continue running script on this page? Yes/No

This occurs whether I use the Menu route File/Print or Flie/Print Preview or
click on a link on the web page to print the page. If I answer Yes to above
question, the same error message box reappears and nothing is printed. If I
answer No, the error message box disappears and nothing is printed. I tried
answering No and waiting, and then trying again, but get the same results.
Sometimes I can print one time, but the print preveiw never works.

I searched answer in this group before posting this question. There were
questions about not being able to print from Outlook or IE6, but Outlook
prints fine. Also, one answer dealt with the Unicode option not being
chosen, but that was done correctly. Any help in solving this problem will
be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
A third-party program, BHO, etc. may be causing this. Did the problem start
about the time a program was installed or updated?

[XP SP2] From IE> Tools> Manage add-ons. Disable add-ons to see if one of
them is the culprit.
[Non SP2] Internet Options> Advanced> uncheck "Enable third-party browser
extensions." If either of these helps, you still need to find the
troublesome program, BHO or add-on.

Other possible solutions at http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers/35.html

Hope this helps,
Don

Thanks. You're right on the money. Un-enabling third party browser
extensions (SP-2) did the trick. Do you have any suggestions for identifying
the culprit software? Is there a way I can identify which 3rd Party
extensions are installed? Then perhaps I could remove them one at a time
(Does this process involve an uninstall?)

Hi,
So then you aren't running XP SP2. ;-) Try ToolbarCop:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/toolbarcop.htm There's no harm in uninstalling (as
a test) items such as the google or yahoo toolbars- they can easily be
reinstalled. Heed the ToolbarCop pop-up warning about creating a registry
backup or system restore point so that other items can be restored.

Unknown BHOs or GUIDs (those items like {9885224C-1217-4C5F-83C2-0000....})
can be researched via Google or another search engine.
