Printing photo in center?

Hello, I have a Hewlett Packard 932c Deskjet printer. I am trying to print
out some photos so that they can be framed. The problem is the bottom
marging always prohibits the photos from being centered. I am printing out
photos made with photoshop 7. If I adjust the top margin then it just cuts
the bottom of the photo off where the bottom margin is. Is there a way
around this? On the printer settings the margin boxes are greyed out and I
cannot edit. I can edit the margins using notepad but the changes do not
work in photoshop. Thanks for any help.

Are you actually printing from photoshop? in the print dialogue,
there is a box to check to center the image.

If your photo is smaller than your canvas then obviously you would
have to center your photo on the canvas prior to printing. You can
then accomplish that by using guides or dump the photo into a new
layer while holding the shift key prior to dropping. That will center
the photo in your canvas.

If your canvas is just white, then go ahead and crop your work area to
the photo size only. Then you can just use the center image option in
the print dialogue which is on by default.

If you give more information about your project, I could be more
specific to your needs.

This has got to the number one question that people ask. The answer is the
image is technically centered based on the firmware margins of the printer.
I believe most HP printers have a .5 inch margin on the trailing
edge-otherwise the image may smear. As for workaround... I don't know of an
easy one. Make the image a small enough so that when you move it over to
the bottom(or right in Landscape) margin the top margin adds up to .5 inch.
If someone know of an easier way I'd love to hear it.
