Printing of Checkboxes

I have inserted several Active X checkbox controls into an MS Word 2002
document. When I click on some of the checkboxes to check them off, and then
print the document, the printed document has the selected checkboxes checked
off, but it also has checked off the checkboxes in between the selected
checkboxes. Print Layout and Print Preview views of the document display
correctly.

If I save and exit the document, and get back in the checkboxes print
correctly.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this behavior?

Hi =?Utf-8?B?U2hlaWxhIFJveWVy?=,

ActiveX controls in Word documents are just plain flaky, and the older the
version, the worse the problems are. Printing checkboxes and (even worse)
options buttons never did work correctly. That's one reason why ActiveX controls
never caught on.

Checkbox form fields work well. The other approach is to use a MacroButton field
with a checkbox symbol as the display text. Clicking the field executes a macro
that exchanges the symbol for another (checked to unchecked and vice versa). You
can see this approach in all the "Fax" templates Microsoft delivers with Office
2002.
