Printing multiple slides on handout

I want to print multiple slides on a handout for a talk I'm just about to
give. However, every time I click on "print," the slides per page option is
grayed out. I went to the Master and set it for "four per page" and yet,
every time I try to print, it will print only one slide per page. I want
four slides per page or six, not one. I'm using PowerPoint 2000. Yikes! Any
suggestions? Thanks!

Under 'Print what:', have you set it to handouts? If it is in other option
such as "Slides", the Handouts section will be grayed out.

My problem: Selected to print 4 handouts per page. Can only get one per
page no matter how many slides I say. Only wants to print the slide the
cursor was last on. Tried Editing, Select All- which did so. Then Print
Preview, which also deselects slides I selected to print. Result is the same
single slide!

So, here is the question: How do I select the entire slide presentation to
print 4 to a page. I don't want to go into word at this point (have not done
so yet as this should be able to print with PP). This should be simple, I am
no idiot (hopefully).

Thanks in advance.

You don't "select" any slides to print the whole presentation. On the Print
dialog box, you tick "All Slide" (which is normally the default choice).
