Printing in IE7

Katherine

I suddenly find I am unable to print web pages in IE7. I am using Windows
Vista Home Premium. It shows the item in print preview but when print is
selected nothing happens other than the printer icon shows briefly before
disappearing followed by nothing. The printer details state there are no
documents pending. I can print from all other programmes such as Word,Excel
etc so I know the fault is not with the printer. Anyone any ideas.

I've downloaded it but not installed it yet... and I'm afraid I don't have
any HP printers. Plenty of Canon inkjets... and a Lexmark Optra S laser.

Yes it is an HP Printer PSC 2350 series. Does this pose a problm because I've
had printer problems since attaching to PC with Vista. Worked on XP ok. Help
woud be appreciated as I'm having to copy all web page downloads into Word.

HP should have an update for you at their website, it's a known issue with
IE7.

Thanks for that but I have been to HP and according to them I already have
the latest downloads etc. However I have writtn to them again with this
specific problem so perhaps they will come up with something.

I checked for Katherine's AIO and I don't see a specific update to deal with
this.

I have the exact same issue with an HP Photosmart 3210. I have uninstalled
and reloaded the drivers (and updates from HP) as recommended by my PC mfr.,
but to no avail. I have contacted HP support via email but have not gotten a
response. If I come up with a resolution I will provide an update.

I believe this experience is universal and there is no standard approach or
solution for everyone. It requires test and trial to find a solution just for
your situation.

Here is my personal experience on this issue and hope that it can be useful
to you:
I am using Vista Ultimate with HP LJ1200 and currently I have two sets of HP
drivers for this printer - Original LJ1200 driver from installation disk and
another latest postscript HP Universal Driver downloaded from HP website.

I have discovered that I need to use different set of printer driver to get
my documents printed. I have to use latest Universal PS driver to print
Office 2007 documents while I have to use LJ1200 driver to print Adobe
Acrobat 8 documents. As for IE7 pages, I have to lower the security setting
for the spooler directory before I can use the Universal PS driver to print.
I encountered same situation as Katherine and I tried to use the original
Printer driver (not the latest driver) to print and I manage to get my
printer to actually print.

I hope you will find the right solution for your situation.
