printing in black & white

mike

i have a HP all-in-1 printer / copier / scanner that
will print black & white or colour. It always prints
colour when there is colour on the monitor BUT I do not
always want these to print in colour. I can't find the
options screen to select ' print in grey scale only'.
can you help me ?

Capabilities vary from one printer driver (printer model) to another, but
generally you would select this in "Printing Preferences".

To set the default:

Open Printers and Faxes
Right click on the printer and select Printing Preferences
Select the Paper/Quality tab

If you are printing from an application such as MS Word, you can set this
for the current document only:
click File, Print
select the printer, if it is not already selected
click Properties
Select the Paper/Quality tab

If this doesn't help, repost stating the exact printer make and model
number.
