Printing every other line fuzzy

I am using Word 2003 with a HP Photosmart 1218 printer. It is printing everyother line fuzzy. I do not have this problem with any of the other Office products. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Printing is the responsibility of the printer driver and is probably the
root cause here. Check with HP's web site for how to fix this problem
on this printer, or find out if there an updated printer driver available.
