why is printer printing rubbish

[Hey, it's me]

my printer is printing the requested page but a line accross the top of my
paper is rubbish. My O/S Vista Home Basic; Windows Office 2007 and HP
Photosmart All-In-One C6180 printer. I beleive I ran across this problem
once before. The instructions said clear printer memory...how?

Hey you!

Your post is maybe a bit off-topic for this NG since it's probably the
printer that's causing the problem and not Word itself, but I'll give it a
shot anyway.

AFAIK, you can usually clear the printer memory just by turning the printer
off and on again. If that doesn't fix it, then I recommend contacting the
printer manufacturer - HP in your case.
