Printing doesn't work?

Hi all,

I have two computers with XP Home on them.
Both printer to the printer in Windows mode just fine.
But one prints from the command line just fine and
the other one will not. DIR > LPT1 works on one
and does not on the other. Both lpt1 ports are set
up the same. Any ideas?

It has been the experience with some brands of printer that if they are
turned on before you boot up your computer they will not work. Try booting
and then turning the printer on. This may sound really dumb, but it does work
