Printing doc in MS Word

I can't print a document in MS Word. There is a little book on the bottom of my screen with a red check mark. When I hit print, my printer icon shows for an instant and then this book comes up - when I click on it, it shows spelling/grammar. I had already checked the spelling & grammar. When I shut my computer down and later started it up again, the document printed. But I tried again, and nothing. Even on a new document, the same thing happens

Will it work if you uncheck 'background printing' in tools > options >
print?
