Printers disappearing and reappearing in XP

We are running Windows XP on 3 computers in a Domain
enviroment. All 3 systems are different manufacturers
Dell, SystemMax etc. Our mapped printers on all 3 just
disappear and when rebooted come back. You can sit and hit
the F5 key and watch them go away, come back and sometimes
just show up a few. All other computers in network about
50 are showing no problems with this. Any suggestions
would be appreciated.

When they disappear, it's probable that the Print Spooler has stopped....

from the Command Prompt, type:

net start spooler
(and hit enter)

If they are connected to each PC via USB, it could be that the USB port is
set to go to sleep to save power. In the Device Manager, scroll down to the
USB entries, right click each one and look in the Power Management tab.....
Uncheck the Enable Sleep option.

I have had a similar issue - my printers are connected via Ethernet IP
the printers disappear and when I look at the print spooler it has stopped
but can only be started for about 1min before it stops again, the printers
don't reappear until I do a system restore - seems to be one of the windows
updates that is causing them to vanish I think. any ideas??
