Printer

I have installed XP several months ago after replacing the Motherboard in my
PC. My machine is custom built.

I have three Printers connected to my machine. Two of the Printers are
connected to Parallel port and the other one by USB. One of the Printers is a
HP Plotter.

Here is the problem, I am experienecing every day.

When I boot the machine, it will come up with new Hardware found. The HP
Plotter is the new Hardware and it will ho through the installtion.
When I try to plot (I use Auto CAD LT 2005) the file will not plot. It will
hang at Administration. Only way I could plot is to remove the Plotter and
re-install the plotter with Auto CAd open.

Once I turned of the machine and start again, the cycle of "new Hardware
found" starts again.

I have disconnected the plotter. Remove the plotter from my Hardware. Re
started the Machine without the Plotter. Reconnected the Plotter to the
Machine and re-install the Plotter though new "Hardware found". Now, it keeps
on stating New Hardware found even though the Plotter is showing under the
Printers.

I did not have the similar problem with 2K.

Where do I go from here?

Apan,

You can try this:

1) Right-Click on My Computer icon on you desktop or jst do: start, My
computer, view system information

2) Now click on Device Manager tab

3) Find your printer that is giving you the problem from the list

4) Delete it competely by pressing delete button when the device is
highlighted in the list

5) reboot the system and it should try installing the printer again
hopefully properly this time.
