Trying to print on oversize plotter paper

Hi all! I've been trying to print to a plotter I have attached to my computer
but Word won't let me set the paper size to anything larger than 22". The
plotter can print up to 42" wide. When I go to PAGE SETUP-PAPER and try to
increase the paper size to ARCH-C or set the size to 24"x36", Word gives me
an error and states that the paper size can't be larger than 22". The plotter
driver is installed correctly and plotter shows as one of the available
printers and I can print sizes smaller than 22", just nothing larger. Anyone
got an idea?

The maximum page size in all versions of Word is 22 x 22 inches. I
usually use Powerpoint to create poster-size pages
