I have Canon BJC-2000 Injet printer. It always worked perfectly with Vistas.
Now since I changed the ink cartridges, it won't work. I send the print job
and in the print queue is says "error - printing" and that's it. What is the
problem. I am so frustrated I'm going to throw it out the window. Someone
please help me!!

Cynthia,

I am not trying to be a smart-ass, but the problem is more than likely
associated with the replacement cartridges.
The first thing you need to do is remove the cartridges and make sure
they are the proper model for your printer. The fact that you got them from
a trusted source means nothing. The fact that the cartridges have the
correct part number means nothing. Mistakes are made, mislabeling occurs and
the manufacturing process is not always infallible.
I assume you still have the original cartridges. If so, take out the
new cartridges and compare the contacts with the contacts on the old ones.
Do you have the same contacts in the same location? If so, are all the
contacts clean?
Replace the new cartridges with the old ones. Does your printer now
function properly? If the old ones cause your printer to work again then the
new ones are not the correct ones or there is something wrong with them. If
the old ones will not allow your printer to work again you can go to Device
Manager and check to see if your printer driver is OK. If it is not OK you
will see a yellow triangle or exclamation mark.
If Device Manager shows a problem with the printer you should go to the
printer manufacturer's website and download the latest driver. However, if
you have already updated the driver just prior to the installation of the
new cartridges it is possible the new driver is causing the problem. If that
is the case you should go back into Device Manager and roll back the driver
to the previous version.
If none of the above suggestions apply to your situation you should
reinsert your printer installation CD and reinstall the printer. Run the
software and do not plug in your printer until prompted to do so. If you
don't have the installation CD or DVD you can go to the manufacturer's
website and download the software from there. Again, do not plug in the
printer until you are prompted to do so.

Is this the first time you have changed the cartridges? It sounds like it
may be. If so, be sure that you have seated them properly and firmly. Often
there is an additional "click" position when inserting new ones, and that
could be the problem.

It's not the cartridges, its not the printer driver or installation disk, all
that is okay. For some reason the print jobs are not getting transmitted to
the printer. This started when I (thought) I ran out of black ink. So I got
new cartridges. The printer installs itself in Vista Home Premium and so
does the USB port blah blah blah. Any other suggestions would be
appreciated. The printer does reset itself when I press the restart button,
so its not dead.

If you had re-seated the cartridges properly, you would have been prompted by
the printer's software to re-align printing on the page, and do a test page
print.

I tried again and it is not the cartridges. It never prompted me to to a
test page before when i changed cartridges. Anyway, it won't even do a test
page, nozzle check or maintenance for me. I plugged it into a different USB
port and that didn't make a difference either. I deleted all previous
printers and reinstalled it again and that didn't help either. I hope I
don't need a new printer! I just bought a dozen new cartridges! I'm going
to call Canon tomorrow. They are closed today. Still open to more
suggestions though. Thanks.

Either uninstall and reinstall the printer or go to Help and Support, type
print problems and use the troubleshoot printer problems.

As others have responded... if it worked before you changed the cartridge,
then it's either an issue with the cartridge or the printer... most likely,
not Vista. Have you tried putting the old cartridge back in? What kind of
msg do you get when the old cartridge is in? (Even if it's "cartridge needs
replacing" might indicate a problem with the new cartridge in that it's not
communicating with the printer successfully...)

Have you tried any of the other dozen cartridges you purchased? Maybe just a
flaky cartridge?

Yes, I tried other cartridges. Still won't print. I also downloaded another
driver to no avail. Do I need to clean the inside of the printer? If so, how
do I do that without hurting it?

Cynthia,

Well... the only thing I can think of right now is trying to print to the
printer from another computer... do you have any other computers in your
house? (This would prove that the printer/cartridge are good and the problem
lies with either the Vista printer driver or Vista itself...)

Have you tried Mr. Barnes's suggestion to uninstall/reinstall the printer
driver?

Lang

Hi Lang

First reboot your computer and uninstall driver and reboot your computer and
reinstall driver without usb cable and when he tell you to connect usb cable
connect it. and continu the installation

and try

let me no if is work or not

bye
