Printer spooler

My printer disappeared and as I try to reinstall I recieve error that
the printer spooler is not working. How can this be fixed? I have a
dell 2400 and dell printer. I have tried the command prompt to no
avail.

Try this, click control panel, then performance and maintenance, then
administrative tools, and double click services. Scroll down to print
spoller, right click, and to the left of the pain click, start service. This
might be the fix.
