printer sharing from vista pc to win 98 pc --win 98 won't see shrd

Hi,
I have 4 pc's: 2 win 98's, 1 winXP, and a new win Vista.
One of the 98 computers had the printer (hp deskjet series 5550).
I took the printer off the pentium II win 98 box and installed the printer
directly connected to the new Vista box. That went well. (enough). I added
the printer as a network printer to the win XP machine, and printed a test
page. Wow, that went well!
I tried to "add printer" on the pentium 4 win 98 box. :.-< "Browse for
network printer" will not find a printer in the Vista box. I can't guess a
path for the printer that works in 98.
XP=share printer ok, 98=what shared printer, printer works locally in Vista.
How do I use Vista printer from Win 98 computer?

HI bubbator,
have you updated xp for the vista network support? xp wont recognize
vista networks without the update. odd that you have to update xp. I did
this and all network problems were resolved. I network 2 printers on 4 comps
2 xp and 2 vista.
search the posts for the xp update, i cant remember the exact name of it.
Hope this helps.
