Win 98 to Vista printer sharing

Allen

I have a printer attached to my Vista machine via a parallel port. I have a
network and my win 98 machine can see my vista machine. I have printer
sharing turned on and no password turned on. When I try to add printer on my
98 machine and browse the network to find the printer, the vista machine asks
for a password. Both machines access the internet fine.

How do I set up access from from the 98 machine to the vista machine?

If you already assign everyone to the sharing printer and turn off password,
you may try to create the same username of Vista on win98. This post may
help too.

Win 98 can't access the Vista ...I can now access my win98 pc from the vista
I can now also see the vista pc on the win98 network neighbourhood. But >
clicking on it brings up a password ...

If you ever get this to work, I would be very interested in hearing about
it. I was successful in getting past the password problem you have,
essentially by following Robert L.'s advice, but ultimately found that every
W98 print request would hang up the Vista machine with the printer.
