Is it possible to set default printer settings for XP/2000 users using Group
Policy?!?

The problem: We have several HP laserprinters in our group, but on *this*
side of the Blig Blue Fence we use "A4" size paper - not the American
default "Letter" size. If anyone mucks with their print settings, the
printer tries to print "Letter" - locking the printer out for everyone else.

Thanks in advance,
Cameron:-)

Open the Properties of these printers and use the Security tab to remove their
permission to manage printers and possibly documents.

Thanks! I didn't know you could do that.. I'll see how it goes. :-)

Ok... I've checked that and users cannot manage either Printers or
Documents.

To be more precise: There are page settings in the "Printing Preferences"
dialog (which are user settings for individual print job, I believe, and are
not affected by the security settings) which allows setting of the Page Size
to something other than what the printer can handle.

Is there a GPO setting to lock this down??

TIA,
Cameron:-)
