Printer recognition

Hello folks,

Any assistance would be appreciated, XP HE Version 2002,
SP1.

I went on vacation, printed my directions day the I left.
When I arrived home my system has functionally
uninstalled my printer. This happened the last time I
went away as well, I had to completely remove and re-
install my printer.

What gives?
