Printer purchase

Thanks to those who replied to my last post. There seems to be unity over
what I should get instead of a Lexmark!
I currently have an Epson Stylus 830, which I'm extremely disappointed
with. Cartridges are small and need refilling or replacing every few
minutes; refilling them generates problems in that the ink takes time to
settle, and also there is no suction if the seal is broken and the cartridge
is momentarily removed; text printing quality is very poor (maybe this links
in with my refilling); I loathe chipped cartridges, with all the hassle of
fiddling around with a resetter; the ceaselessly necessary, endlessly
repeated head cleaning is extremely time-consuming and uses masses of ink,
running down the chipset levels; more seriously, my Lexmark had done a very
good job with printing onto watercolour paper, trace and business card,
which the Epson doesn't.
How will the Canon i series compare on these counts?
With thanks,

EVERY FEW MINUTES.....

If you are telling the truth, then there is something seriously wrong.

If not telling the truth, .... nice to hear from you.

This looks like a fairly good whine against Epson printers. It has
fairly good length.

Why is it some people insist on posting messages that no one knows what
the hell they're talking about. Is there some meaning behind these
broken thoughts?

I have Epson 830
From each colour cartridge I can print 14 borderless full colour A4 size
photo prints.
These look fantastic and impress everyone who sees them.
Here in the UK it is as cheap to buy compatible cartridges in bulk as to buy
the ink to refill the cartridges and it is a lot less messy than refilling.
My only complaint about the 830 is that it is a little heavy in the quantity
of colour ink it uses but the quality of the prints makes it all worthwhile.
