printer properties stays open for only about 20 seconds

I've been having a problem with my printer so I was
trying to check the printer properties, but the window
will only stay open for about 20 seconds or so and then
it abruptly closes. Has anyone experienced something
like this? Thank you.
 
Please give more detail! What kind of printer? What was the original
problem? What OS you are using? Do you have the latest driver? Did you
just/recently install the printer?
