Printer problem

I recently installed some MS updates including the malicious software removal
tool for January 06 and since then, I don't have a printer. My printer folder
is completely empty and when I click on the add a printer button, I get an
error "operation could not be completed" and I cannot add a printer. Before I
ran the updates, everything was fine and I had a couple of printers installed
including PDF and fax modules. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Uninstall the updates via add remove programs and see if you get the option
to install a printer. If you find the update causing the problem dont
re-install it, contact microsft to report the problem. You could also try
system restore.

Glen,
Thanks for the response. That was the direction I was heading but I was
hoping there was another possible way, aside also from system restore. I'm
afraid if I did a system restore, I would lose all my data and I can't risk
that. I'll try the uninstall of the updates and see if that works. If so,
I'll let you all know. And I'll be sure to report to MS so they can work out
the bugs.

Thanks again, Glen.
