Printer printing blank page on startup

I have just got a new system and moved from Win98 to XP. I am using my old
NEC SuperScript 870 laser printer. Whenever I boot up, it spits out a blank
page. It never did that with 98. Is there any way to stop it?

Is it possible that there is a job in the print queue?

To check this go to start, printers and faxes, double click on the printer
and it should show you all the jobs, if any waiting to print. If there is a
job just select it and press the delete key.

Also you could try reseting the print spooler, go to star run, type in
services.msc and press enter, then find the print spooler and right mouse
click and choose restart.

Failing that go to the Xerox page and download the latest XP drivers

If your printer is turned off at system boot up, after boot does it then
spit out the blank page when it's turned on?

You need to update the driver to the XP compatible one. I have the NEC
860 and have no problem with it.
