Printer Port Problem after loading XP upagrade

Just loaded Windows XP upgrade to my HP Pavilion Pent II
platform. All OK except wont print (printer error).
Driver for HP697 is present. Upon furtjer inspection
problem with printer port LPT1: "This device is disabled
because the firmware of the device did not give it the
required resources. (Code 29)" Have already reloaded
driver
