Printer on or off

The author of an online article about printing digital photos recommended
leaving your ink jet printer on all the time for better results. I was under
the impression that it should be left off when not in use. Any thoughts.

A problem with ink jet printer is clogging if you don't use the printer
frequently. You then have to clean the heads, a rather easy thing to do (all
printers have instructions on how to do this in their included software, it
just costs a little bit of ink when doing so). Usually not a big deal.
Leaving the printer on is not going to solve anything. To prevent clogging,
print something.
Printing something everyday or so will prevent such. Print at low quality
and on plain paper is just fine for this.
Also this kind of problem seems to have been corrected in most recent (last
two years) printers. A once a week printing should be more than adequate.
