Printer notifications

My boss updated our computers in the office to XP and
they started sending a notification to all users when I
print to the local printer. Can I turn this off?
 
Kristy, not sure what you mean by notification?
Please tell us exactly what the notification said.

click 'start'->'printers and faxes'->'file'->'server properties'->'advanced'
here you can turn off 'printer notification'
