printer not installed

Hi, i need help...
I have a computer with Windows XP, and two printers.
Lexmark M410(parallel) & Lexmark X83(USB). It always
happens in a week that the computer will say no printer
installed. So what i will do is shut everything off
(computer & printers)and on again. Then the printers will
be recognized. It is becoming nuisance already, that's why
i call to the experts - you guys... please help...

Next time it happens, try restarting the printer spooler. From the command
prompt, type

net start spooler

Hit enter.... and see if they reappear.

Hi,
The problem appears again and we tried what was suggested.
But after giving the command, it says that the requested
service is already started.....

Any other advice please....

Set the LPT port to EPP in the BIOS.

Then restart the PC... and from the command prompt, type

sfc /scannow

Restart tjhe PC once again. Is the printer now back and does it 'stick'.
