printer is stuck on print, print, print no matter what I do

Hello,
a couple days ago someone I know sent an attachment that
contained something called a MIME document. Using
WordPad, I downloaded it. (I don't use Word, but use
WordPerfect.)
However, after the poem was printed, the printer kept
spewing out page after page of gibberish. I did what I
knew how to do with no luck. I've paused the printer and
taken away the paper so it can't print. I tried it a
little while ago and it still wants to print print.

I have windows xp, am obviously not sophisticated about
computers and at a loss about what to do.

I'd appreciate any help. Thank you very much,
Lenore

You must be the "lost Lenore" that Poe wrote about. You
don't say what you're using for an e-mail client, but it
appears that whatever it is, it's not configured to read
MIME-formatted attachments. Look up "MIME" in the help
files of your e-mail client and ask the person who sent you
the message to do the same.
BTW, you can't "download" anything using Wordpad or any
other word processing application, so it's not clear what
happened.
