Printer Driver Re-install

We are using a Brother HL-1400 printer on a Compaq using XP Home. It is a
shared computer. Everytime we restart the computer the printer quits
working until we re-install the driver.

We have XP Service pack 1
We have the latest driver from Brother

We could use some help here.

If this is an old parallel port printer, go into the BIOS and change the
settings for the LPT port from ECP to EPP
