I turned on my notebook today and found the printer and fax folder empty. I
had many printers installed and now they are all gone. I am unable to print
from any application. and the add printer wizard does not work with the
following error message: "operation could not be completed"

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Time to do a complete scan of your notebook with good up to date
antivirus software.....

Thanks for the response. However, I tried that already and it didn't work. I
also scanned the entire disk for viruses and there weren't any,

Any other ideas?

May be due to incorrect Services configuration. Visit www.blackviper.com and
download the default services configuration script (.REG) and apply. If this
din't work, you may try here: microsoft.public.windowsxp.print_fax for
faster response.
