When ever i take a print screen on my pc for some strange reason my wallpaper
always comes up beside it. Its incredibly annoying and each time i have to
send the print screen first to paint and then re-paste it into Word for use.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
Many thanks.

You do realize that there are two methods of printscreen, one which takes
the entire desktop, and the other just the active window?

Alt+printscreen gets just the active window.
Control+printscreen gets the entire screen.

It's not a problem; that's the way it's designed to work.

Pressing the <PrtScn> key copies the entire display, including the
Desktop Wallpaper, to the clipboard. Pressing <ALT>+<PrtScn> copies
only the active Window to the clipboard (iow, into RAM). To view the
screen capture, open a graphics program, such as MS Paint, and press
<CTRL>+V. This will paste the contents of the clipboard (your
screenshot) into the open file, and allow you to view it or save it as a
file for later use.

Actually, use of the <Ctrl> key is entirely superfluous; pressing
<PrtScn> by itself copies the entire desktop.

Are you looking for a Windows XP Registry "tweak" that will automatically
send the foreground window to a printer?

I am not sure if that is possible, but I thought I would offer the question
as an observation.

That is the defined behavior for the PrtScr key, when used alone. It grabs
the entire display. If you want only the active window, use Alt-PrtScr
