I am running Windows XP Professional Media Edition. It is running on an
HP Media Center PC m1160n. When I click on the print screen button it prints
out immediately. It displays the saved screen in a window which I can save
as a file, but, not before it has printed it out. In my old computer with
Windows 98 SE I would click on the print screen button and then I could go
to word pad and paste what had been saved by "print screen." Then if I
wanted to print this out I could at my pleasure.
I have removed the KBD in add/remove and reinstalled the drivers in the
HP Application recovery feature. I closed down and rebooted. I still have
the same problem.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi Chris,

An interesting problem. I didn't think the print screen key actually printed
what was on the screen since the early days of Windows or DOS. Does the Help
file provide any information for print screen, or do you have a keyboard
that might be configured to do this <grasping at straws>?

Print Screen button on the keyboard usually captures the image on the
screen. I do not remember the name\Location of the program but it was
downloadable from a College site that permitted this action with a built in
option to print immediately the image when the Print Screen button was
activated on the keyboard
