Print range problem with folio style page numbering

We use folio style page numbering for the types of technical reports we write
(for reference purposes, not ease of page replacement) and found that we have
trouble specifying a range of pages to print (Word 2003). When we tried to
print the entire chapter 5 (chapters were produced using section breaks), we
entered a range of 83-94 using the page numbers that Word displays in the
status bar at the bottom of the application window (page 83 of 94 for the
first page of Chapter 5), Word acted like it was printing, but did not do
anything. When I tried to use the number of the first page of the chapter
(5-1), Word printed pages 1 through 5 in reverse order.

Is it possible to print a chapter or range of page without having to select
it and use "Print Selection"?

In a document containing more than one section, you have to specify the
section number(s). See the "Print specific pages and sections" portion of
the "Print a document" Help topic.

The reason the pages were printed in reverse order is that (a) you have
"Reverse print order" checked on the Print tab of Tools | Options or (b) you
have a printer that outputs face up; these commonly reverse the print order
so that the resulting document is in the correct order.
