Print queue does not clear

Using XP Pro, up to date, with Epson 2200. After last
couple of XP updates, the Epson print queue does not
clear after a print job more often than not. Seems to
have something to do with file size, but not consistent.
Tried a complete uninstall/reinstall with current driver
from Epson, but no success. Changing BIOS port type
and/or LPT port type seems to have no effect, and all
that will work is to turn off the spooler and send raw.
The fix is to reboot with printer in error condition,
cancel job when error message appears on reboot, and then
start over.

uncheck Enable Bidirectional on the Port Tab of Printer Properties.
